The Iris Power GuardII is a second generation continuous on‐ line monitor that provides maintenance professionals with an opportunity to automate PD testing. The Iris Power GuardII
monitor continuously collects and archives PD data which are used to produce 2D and 3D (phase resolved) plots as well as summary numbers (Qm and NQN), which are used for trending and comparison with similar machines. The archived PD data can be downloaded locally over a USB port, or remotely using Ethernet (TCP/IP) network communication. An alert is raised if the PD activity is above a user defined threshold.
The Iris Power GuardII comes with the Iris Application Manager™ (IAM) software which is a Windows™‐based software suite for configuring the monitor, downloading the archived data, and viewing/analyzing the PD data. Ethernet connectivity allows personnel in distant offices to define or change trigger conditions and alert levels, as well as download test results for display on a computer.
